WWOOFers

Welcome to Puriri Flat Vineyard, Sandspit, New Zealand

We have built our own log house on the hillside overlooking the sea. We have chickens, 2 cats, an English Springer Spaniel dog called Mink and lambs. We try to grow most of our own veges and fruit, and make all our own beer and wine. We make infused oils and cider vinegars for sale. We welcome into our home Wwoofers who are keen to 'have a go' at any work, whether it is inside or outside. We provide good single or double accommodation and enjoy a multicultural eating pattern. We are within walking distance of the beach and handy to good surfing, snorkeling and walking opportunities. We have a boat and eat lots of fresh fish. Our belief is the guardianship of the planet for those who come after. Working with the land to provide a healthy and happy environment for us all. We work on a permaculture system using lots of mulch and compost.

We are an active supporter of the WWOOF organisation. WWOOFers stands for "Willing Workers on Organic Farms". In return for half a day's work, we provide all your meals and accomodation, usually for two weeks at a time.

It's very relaxed, but we do hope people immerse themselves and join in the fun as well as the work

The work here is varied depending on the season and the weather. There is always lots of grass to cut and weeds to remove and vegetables to care for as well as the grapes and lavender.  We encourage you to use the weekends to see the surrounding countryside.

Our recent WOOFers from France produced this wonderful video of their stay at Puriri Flat.
