Puriri Flat vineyard is situated in Sandspit; a small village on the north east coast of New Zealand. Our vineyard faces north and gets the best of the sun and the least of the cold winds.

We are a small family business, with no employees, apart from ourselves. Our labour comes from many overseas students, travelling New Zealand through the Wwoof scheme.

We grow grapes and olives, as well as many other fruit trees, herbs and vegetables.

All our wine and apple cider vinegars are handmade and fermented in old French oak barrels. The bottling, labeling and waxing is also, all done by hand.

By the way - we're called "Puriri Flat" because the only flat area on the property is where we built our house.  The flat area is dominated by several huge Puriri trees - a native tree of New Zealand.
